Florence and the Machine recording ‘Breath of Life’ for Snow White and the Huntsman [x]

“It’s more from the perspective of the queen. I just thought the queen was such a amazing character. She’s literally sucking the life of young girls… It’s amazing to see something you’ve done in a tiny studio just turned into this orchestral magnificence. It’s completely beautiful and terrifying. I think the audience, I’d like them to be slightly afraid.” - Florence Welch

Breath of Life by Florence and the Machine

When I was a kid I didn’t really like the name. I wanted something really jazzy like Sarah or Beth. Now I think I’d take my middle name, Leontine, which my sister calls me anyway. My cousin is called Leontine. She seems to be coping.

OH, HEY. DIDN’T MEAN TO STARTLE YOU. WE HEARD YOU PLAYING THAT FLORENCE + THE MACHINE RECORD IN YOUR TENT.
CAN WE JUST HANG OUT AND LISTEN TO IT? WE’LL BE SUPER QUIET. WE’RE JUST REALLY BIG FANS OF HER WORK.

” I want my music to sound like throwing yourself out of a tree or off a tall building or as if you’re being sucked down into the ocean and you can’t breathe. It’s something overwhelming and all-encompassing that fills you up, and you’re either going to explode with it, or you’re just going to disappear”
